The ventilation specialist berbel from Rheine in Westphalia has received two additional awards from the Red Dot Award jury this year. Products that have an outstanding design quality are awarded and are privileged to wear the attracting and internationally recognised Red Dot winner‘s label. Smart and innovative products were the focus of this year‘s competition.
The expert jury of the Red Dot Award, the renowned international award for outstanding design quality, has once again honoured a berbel extractor. berbel Downline Performance with the regenerative permalyt® filter was honoured by the jurors of the Red Dot Award in the categories “winner“ and “innovative product“. The “Red Dot“ is the coveted seal of quality for products with high design quality.

The recipe for best air
The self-regenerating and maintenance-free berbel permalyt® filter has been new to the Downline family range since January 2021. The filter system reliably and permanently transforms unpleasant odours in the kitchen into clean air. The filter mats of the berbel permalyt® filters are made of a special type of active carbon that allows two modes of operation. In normal operation, the air flows through the filter mats and captures the odorous substances. The odour binding capacity is up to 97 percent. After a certain duration of use, the regeneration process starts in the closed filter system. A thermocatalytic process neutralises the odours with the help of a catalyst. The first recirculating air filter system that regenerates itself – industrial technology for the home – maintenance-free - from berbel, the specialist for extractor hoods.
