Headroom hood Smartline wins award

Rheine, April 2017 – Following the success in 2015, berbel received another award in the product design category. The Smartline headroom hood was named “reddot design award winner 2017”. The Smartline received the German Design Council’s “ICONIC AWARDS 2017 INTERIOR INNOVATION” prize before it was even launched to the marked. The high quality and design standards that are characteristic for berbel hoods were now confirmed with the prestigious reddot award. The 39 jury members of the reddot award were impressed by the modern, linear design of the Smartline, combined with the highest technical standards. The seal of quality is only bestowed upon products whose design stands out from similar available products.

The award-winning hood’s innovative design is yet another achievement of the Cologne-based design firm Studio Ambrozus. berbel has been successfully cooperating with Stefan Ambrozus and his team for several years now. The award-winning Smartline hood that has been available since the end of December 2016 “is the perfect symbiosis of functionality and aesthetic quality,” says the designer Stefan Ambrozus. According to its designer, the Smartline has “plenty of character, thanks to the combination of a delicate hood body and a bold front design”.

On the outside, the Smartline is distinguished by its matt black steel surface with a rounded edge profile. On the inside it is equipped with tried and tested energy-efficient berbel recirculation technology: the berbel principle, with two supplementary Capillar Traps and the berbel active carbon odour filters, provides for excellent air cleaning when cooking, frying and steaming. The hood is equipped with berbel BackFlow technology (patent pending) to prevent condensation forming on the body and to promote efficient capturing of vapour. The integrated EC motor operates at an unusually low noise level and it is still extremely powerful. Two energy-efficient LED lighting strips radiate glare-free working light. The touch panel is very discreet and can be operated intuitively. With its perfect shape, the berbel Smartline is a prime example of timeless product design.
